can you buy and trade stocks online?

if so is there one website where u do it? or multiples? can you always check how the stock you brought is doing? etc.

how can one be a "day trader"?

I like Scottrade and OptionsXpress. I do not like etrade because they will hit you with fees if you don’t trade.

ADay traderr is one who opens and closes the same stock position on the same day as little as times per week.

    YES you can trade online. there are many banks and brokers that give you software to trade.
    eg : hdfc bank.& icicibank etc.

    broker: bonanza portfilo ltd. etc

    You can absolutely trade online.
    Personally, i would recommend thinkorswim.

    Also, if you live in the us, your account must have 25k for you to be able to make more than 4 trades per week.
